Practicum and Volunteer Opportunities

North Newstead Association provides opportunities for practicum students from Washington University’s George Warren Brown School of Social Work, as well as interns from other local college and technical schools in St. Louis. Students get firsthand experience working directly with residents, community leaders, and other stakeholders involved in NNA’s work. With NNA’s wide variety of programs, students can gain experience working in not only administrative work but also property management, community engagement, event planning, meeting facilitation, relationship development, and so much more! For information on practicum opportunities and to see how you can apply, please contact us at We look forward to working with you!

We also work with area businesses, schools, and other groups who are interested in getting connected to volunteer opportunities throughout our 21 neighborhood service areas. Previous volunteer efforts involved neighborhood and alley clean ups, plantings in the park, and assisting with events like Family Fun Days at the park. To learn more about how your organization can get connected to these opportunities, email us at
