The North Newstead Association (NNA) is a Missouri not-for-profit corporation designated by the City of St.   Louis as a Community Based Development Organization, or “CBDO” for purposes of the Community Development Block Grant Program and it is designated by the City of St. Louis as a Community Housing Development Organization, or “CHDO” for purposes of Home Investment Partnerships Program.

The organization has a membership of local businesses, neighborhood residents and community leaders and is governed by a 10 member Board of Directors. The organization has been active since its incorporation in 1993 and currently serves the St. Louis City neighborhoods of Baden, Carr Square, Fairground, Fountain Park, Gate District, Greater Ville, Hamilton Heights, JeffVanderLou, Kingsway East, Kingsway West, Lewis Place, Mark Twain/I-70 Industrial Park, North Pointe, O’Fallon, Old North St. Louis, Penrose, St. Louis Place, The Ville, Vandeventer, Walnut Park West, and Wells-Goodfellow.

Its mission is to bring community partners together to promote economic well being in the North Newstead Association geographic area by providing affordable housing and family support services to the areas low and moderate-income residents.

To date, North Newstead Association has constructed, rehabilitated, or in the process of rehabilitating nearly 190 affordable housing units. We have attracted several new businesses and improved the façade of over fifty businesses already in the area.
